Return of the Broad Street Bullies

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The Flyers are usually one of those teams people expect to make playoffs every year, this year will be different.

Fear has been spreading across the league when hearing about how tough this years Flyers team will be physically. This team is currently in a rebuilding mode, but they have stocked up on fighters and hitters for the season. Over the last few seasons the Flyers team had talented players who did not hit and you would rarely see a fight. This year will be different.

Picking up players like P.J. Stock, Matthew Barnaby, Ken Belanger, Wade Brookbank, Hugo Marchand, Luke Richardson and Marc Moro in Free Agency will definitly help team toughness. The team has also acquired Martin Grenier, Jay Harrison and Eric Cairns via trades. Flyers also have several fighters on the team from last season, just to name a few, Jarkko Ruutu and Georges Laraque. If you want to make a fool out of the Flyers this season, you better be prepared to pay the price.

Out of the 29 teams the Flyers will face this season, at least 4 games of the 82 schedule the team will be dressing a lineup featuring all of the mentioned players plus others. The Flyers will be out to set the tone of the game and for the season. When it comes time for the Flyers to play the Penguins this year, get some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show. It should be fun. Only thing that concerns the Flyers GM right now is the amount of ice he will be needed to buy for his players knuckles.
