Canucks drop home opener

Well a disapointed crowd of 17439 were sent home into the rainy night after an outstanding performance from ex Canuck Dan Cloutier. Cloutier named 1st star of the game stoped 30 of 32 shots and steal 2 road points for the Hawks.
The Canucks opened the scoring early in 1st when Mike Knuble scored his 1st of the year.Assists went to Brad richards and Rick Nash. The Canucks took 6 of the 8 minutes of penalties handed out in the opening period.
The Canucks went to sleep for just over 7 minutes in the 2nd and it cost them 3 goals. The hawks tied the game up when Bogoniechi scored from Mrazak and Salvador. Then karel Rachunek kicked the crap out of Marazek and instead of firing up the Canucks the hawks scored 2 quick goals. Rasmussen and Kolozvary scored just over a minute apart to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead.
A powerplay goal by Zubruis gave the Canucks a chance to get back into it but they could not tie it up.It was a disappointing opener for new starter Alex Ault who let in 3 goals on only 18 shots.Next up for the Canucks is the powerful Florida Panthers.
