Boyes leads way as Jackets edge Canes
Raleigh, NC
The Blue Jackets really wanted to continue some positive momentum going on the road in a match with the Hurricanes. In the first period, Brad Boyes notched his 5th and 6th goals of the season and added an assist on Raffi Torres' game winner in the third. The coaching staff was thrilled with the continued excellent netminding by rookie goalie Corey Crawford, who stopped 30 shots for the win. Martin Hohener and Niklas Kronwall both played excellent physical defense, keeping extensive pressure off Crawford. " It's nice to see a dominant defensive game, we kept ourselves moving as the game went on, and kept them off their game." said Matt Cooke.
The Jackets head to St. Louis in the next road game.
