Langenbrunner Finding His Game In Florida

FLORIDA - It was the end of the year in more ways then one for Jamie Langenbrunner. Dec. 30th Jamie was told that a deal was finalized and he was going to Florida along with Kenny Jonsson.

Both were struggling to find their game. Jamie scored 29 goals last year and had 71 points ( tied for first on Wings) but in the first 17 games he scored twice and only nine points.

"Ya it was frustrating for sure." Langenbrunner told reporters when asked about his slow start "I knew that if I kept working hard that my chances would come and I would be scoring again...but getting traded kind of shook me...I just wasn't expecting it."

'We were confident that Jamie would snap out of his slow start." GM Perrault added. "We are just glad it he snapped out of it sooner rather then later."

In his first 9 games he has shown the fans what he is capable of.....scoring 6 times and adding 7 helpers for 13 points in them 9 games....not bad for a guy who was "slumping".

"The guys here made the transition real easy and made us, Kenny and I, feel like a part of the team from the moment we walked into the Arena. Here I didn't feel the pressure of "needing" to score. I could concentrate on playing and let the puck bounce as it will and its been bouncing my way. I am enjoying my new team and playing with my new mates. It has helped me bounce back to playing and contributing like I knew I could."
