Rangers GM Suffers Heart Attack Due to Win
The New York Rangers posted an inspiring and unexpected win over the Buffalo Sabres last night - and hospitalized their General Manager in the process.
With the reeling Rangers facing the high flying sabres with 71 0V Karl Goehring in between the pipes the unstable GM had tried to "bolt" to Tampa and take over the Lightning franchise. He had publicly lambasted the team and all but predicted a loss last night.
His team, and Karl Goehring in particular had other plans. Standing tall between the pipes all night and robbing Spezza in particular twice the young netminder looked ready to take over the starting role. He finished as the games first start.
GM Burns was seen screaming and going apoplectic as the game wore on. He dropped to the floor on the Rangers fourth goal and was rushed to hospital.
Word out of the Rangers' organization is that he suffered a mild heart attack but is recovering well and should be back in the front office within a few days.
Goehring was simply unbeatable all night and his prowness seemed to boost his teams confidence as the night wore on. Despite being heavily out shot the Rangers managed a 4-2 vicotry on the efforts of two more ulikely heroes. Brad Lukowich and Petr Prucha followed Goehring in the games stars selection.
Try as they might none of the team could feign much concern for Mr. Burns' condition.
