One thing leads to another

While the Leafs await the League's confirmation of a fairly large deal, many fans are left to wonder whats next?

The trade would see the Leafs bring in goalie Dan Blackburn of the multi-million dollar contract fame in return . The Bluejackets get a few pro contracts for salary cap room that the leafs needed to make , 4 million in cash to compensate taking on those contracts, and 3 solid Jr's, one of which would have been a starter on the Leafs squad next season.





The Jrs were Dennis Wideman, recent draft pick Scott Lehman(both defenceman) and popular Chris Bourque(C).

This puts the future of star goalie, Evgeny Nabakov, in doubt. With Nabakov being an UFA and Blackburn a RFA, one would think the team will not resign both, though anything is possible. Look for the Leafs to shop Nabakov around. What does this mean for their playoff drive? Good question. Another name that has been tossed round has been Vitali Vishnevsky. The team has had numerous offers for the top Dman all season but hadnt considered any of them. The closer the team gets to the deadline, the more they might have to reconsider their arrangement with VV.

Either way, this certainly will force a few more moves, whether its now or soon.
