Brathwaite Gets Start Tonight after Pummeling by the Isles
The Ottawa Senators are coming off of a 'reality check' game versus the NY Islanders last night. They lost the game 5-2 and coach Martin was not happy, "The guys didn't respond when they had to. We've been playing good hockey but really stunk tonight. Roman is tired, he's played quite a few games and that's partly my fault for not starting Freddy to give Roman a rest. Freddy will start tonight so I don't make the same mistake twice."
This will be Brathwaite's first start of the year as he has come in to relieve Turek only two other times and has performed well, "This will be a chance for me to prove I am a great goalie and maybe put some confidence in Schmucky that I can rise to the occasion when called on" said Fred in an afternoon interview today.
His task will not be easy however as the Sens play the tough Carolina Hurricanes who beat Ottawa earlier this season in a 6-5 shootout. The Sens expect much better defense tonight and some solid goaltending as well as they try to avoid a 2nd loss in a row.
