Long Lay off between games catch Leafs offguard
After a solid 2-0-1 start, the Toronto Maple Leafs were happy to end the week against the Coyotes, who were in the middle of changing gms. Having a few days off, the Leafs seem to be asleep at the wheel however, totally taking this team for granted and getting slammed 8-4.
Key mentionables from the week that was
---Team goes 2-1-1
---Leafs goaltender Nabokov got the hook midway into the second period after allowing 5 goals.
---Dman Thomas Kaberle tallies 8 points and leads team as well as all defencemen in scoring
---Ryan Smith leads team with 4 goals
---Struggling *** Vitali Vishnevsky 0 points and 9 hits, leagues team in hits but is below normal
Next up for the Leafs
another day off to lick their wounds, then back to back games

85 MapleLeaf at Jackets
IN THE JUNIORS
Baby leafs welcome back both Eric Fehr And Robbie Schremp from camps. Both came back with improved skating skills, going up 4 and 3 points respectivly. The team will be happy to get these 2 skilled players back into the lineup after going 2-2 in their first 4 games.
The chemistry will be tough to gauge considering many players will be off at camp at some point during the season.
Alex Ovechkin needs to stay out of the box and start to score, as does Petr Prucha. These 2 lit up the preseason scoreboard but have been quiet so far .
for the Buds, they have a day off and then have their biggest challenge of the year so far facing the highly touted Canadian contingent of the Hurricanes farm team
