Ottawa Looks to get back on track against the Ducks

The Ottawa Senators are fresh off of a 2 day break after a dissappointing loss to the St. Louis Blues. The Sens fired 37 shots on Brent Johnson but only managed to slip 2 past him in the 4-2 loss on Friday night.

The 2-2 Senators are playing magnificent Defense, but can't seem to break down opposing defences. Ottawa is 2nd in CLUTCH with only 9 goals against, but also have a dismal 9 goals for. Critics have stated that guys like Selanne and Ryder have to step up or step out! Michael Ryder has been the biggest disappointment this season so far with only 1 point, 7 shots and a -2 plus/minus rating. Andreas Holmqvist has also failed to live up to expectations as the young defenseman is boasting an atrocious -4 rating himself.

On a bright note, newly acquired defenseman Tom Poti is leading the squad in scoring and plus/minus with 5 points and a +6 rating. .

The Senators hope to get back on track against the 1-2-3 Ducks of Anaheim. Their top scorer this season so far is Jani Rita with 4 points but they are not to be underestimated with decent goaltending, this tough and gritty squad has the potential to beat anyone, lets just hope the Sens can put some pucks in the net tonight!
