Capitals Host Thrashers

The Washington Capitals go for its third straight win and fifth straight game without a loss when the Atlanta Thrashers come to town on Day 129. The Caps are 26-27-10 and three points out of the playoffs with two games in hand. Atlanta is 9-48-7.

Zigmund Palffy leads the Capitals with 58 points on 23 goals and 35 assists. Anson Carter has the most goals with 24 and adds 23 assists. Patrick Marleau also has 47 assists, while Mikael Renber adds 44 points to the attack. Frantisek Lukes is also contributing with 18 goals and 24 assists.

On defense, Rob Blake has six goals and 32 assists, while Dan Boyle has four goals and 21 assists. Bryan Berard is also doing well with eight goals and 16 assists.

In goal, Manny Legace is 21-22-7 with a 3.28 GAA and .880 save percentage. Peter Skudra is 4-5-3 with a 3.03 GAA and .895 save percentage. Skudra is expected to start against Atlanta.

Dany Heatley is the big leader for Atlanta with 23 goals and 44 assists for 67 points. Bill Muckalt adds 43 points, while Par Backer has 40 points.

On the blue line, Ilja Nikulin has 13 goals and 23 assists. Brad Brown is also chipping in with five goals and 11 assists.

Between the pipes, Michael Garnett is 8-46-7 with a 4.33 GAA and .859 save percentage. Stephane Fiset is 1-2-0 with a 3.78 GAA and .877 save percentage.
