Junior Capitals Prepare to Host Dallas

Needing a win to keep its slim playoff hopes alive, the Washington Junior Capitals host the Dallas Junior Stars on Day 144. Washington is 11th in the Wales Conference at 29-32-11. Dallas is seventh in the Campbell Conference at 31-33-11.

Leading the attack for the Junior Caps are a trio of forwards with 42 or more points. Sean Bergenheim tops the charts with 16 goals and 36 assists for 51 points. Patrick O'Sullivan has 18 goals and 28 assists, while Zbynek Novak contibutes 17 goals and 25 assists.

On defense, Jakub Cutta adds seven goals and 29 assists, and Igor Shadulov has 28 points in 54 games. Brett Carson is also playing well with 25 points in 48 games.

In goal, Brad Topping is 14-23-6 with a 3.05 GAA and .898 save percentage. Daniel Taylor is 11-9-3 with a 2.87 GAA and .897 save percentage, and Robert Muller is 4-0-2 with a 1.75 GAA and .933 save percentage. Muller is expected to start against Dallas.

Petr Taticek is the top scorer for the Junior Stars with 29 goals and 45 assists for 74 points. Dragan Umicevic adds 28 goals and 28 assists, while Steve Ott has 20 goals and 24 assists.

On the blue line, Garrett Stafford has seven goals and 33 assists. Janne Niskala and Michal Blazek are also chipping in with 26 points each.

Between the pipes, Jason Bacashihua is 31-33-10 with a 2.89 GAA and .894 save percentage. Tyler Weiman is 0-0-1 with a 2.13 GAA and .929 save percentage. Bacashihua is suspended for having appeared in too many games.
