Blues move on
After going up 3 games to 0 in there series with the Hawks the Blues let them back into the series losing the next 3 games to go into game 7 tied at 3. The game turned out to be a carbon copy of the series as well with the Blues going up 3 goals to 0 then allowing the Hawks to score 3 of there own to end the game ties at 3. In OT the Blues would have to step it up if they had any hopes of moving on to the 2nd round. Then at 2:23 of OT Martin Erat steped up and scored his 1st of the playoffs which turned out to be there most important goal of the series as after reveiw the Hawks were sent packing and the Blues move on to face the Predators in the 2nd round.
Now the Blues wisk there way to Nashville where they will face the 2nd best team in the league and the best team in the conference. In the season series with the Predators the Blues only managed but 1 win but all the loses were by 1 goal and this shapes up to be a very tight series. The Predators will be short Jordan Krestanovich who was involved in a vicius incident in the first round of the playoffs and will likely miss the whole playoffs. If the Blues hope to win this series they will have to shut down Chris Pronger who leads the team with 5 goals and 4 assists. this should be a daughting task indeed. The predators are a solid team from there centers to there goalies and should prove to be a very strong test for the Blues. will this be the end of the Blues playoff run or will they move on to take on either the Sharks or the Flames for the conference title. Of course first things first the Blues must dispatch the Predators in an all Smythe Division battle.
