Walking wounded
Just like in their round 1 series the Blues head home to the friendly confinds of the Savis center up 2-0 in their series with the Predators. The difference however is that the Predators are taking a much bigger physical toll on the Blues roster. First Sydor was pressed into service when Hrdina was highsticked in game 1 by Kubina and is not expected back in this series. Now after game 2 the Blues will be dressing another forward after Bobby Holik pulled a muscle in his lower body and isn't expected to be in the lineup when they play there first game in St Louis and is doubtfull for the 2nd as well. The Game plan for the Blues going into the series was a simple one. To get physical with the Predators and make them lose there heads. This game plan has worked but the Physical toll on the Blues to date has been a little more then they bagained for. Of course the trade off of Hrdina for Kubina was adecent one but now with 2/3 of the Blues Checking line on the mend they will be hardpressed to continue there winning ways. Blues Captain Brad Richards had these comments when arriving for morning practice, "Guys are dropping like flies and this has been the most physical series we have ever been in. No worries though other guys are just going to have to step up and make it difficult for the coaches to decide when the walking wounded do return."
