Bruins hold press conference to announce...
Nothing.
That's what the Bruins announced in an impromptu conference at the Fleet Center this afternoon, amid their numerous OTHER press conferences today.
"We've been asked repeatedly today about the status of Andrej Meszaros and whether he will be joining the Bruins' roster for the upcoming season," GM Joshua Anderson addressed in the session. "We are eager to see what the big guy can do on the pro ice, but at this time we are working with his representatives to make that happen."
Mezaros, who, despite his hyped pedigree, was a fair-to-middling defenseman with the junior club, has been seen working out extensively with personal trainers and was spotted being tutored by Cam Neely in recent weeks.
Anderson reemphasized his desire to make something worked out with Meszaros. "Frankly, what we saw was him develop as a player, and we believe he has some potential to bloom even further. We want that to happen in a Bruins sweater."
The player's agent was seen on the fourth floor of the arena, but did not appear to be smiling. That does not appear to be a positive sign for Bruins fans.
