Capitals Re-Sign Marleau
The Washington Capitals announced the re-signing of star center Patrick Marleau recently. The team's captain inked a four-year deal worth $4,400,000 per year with a $5,500,000 signing bonus.
Fresh off a 68 point season, Marleau, 27, signed an offer sheet with the Dallas Stars. Washington was quick to match the offer and ensure the return of one of the club's best players. Patrick scored 29 goals and assisted on 39 others last year to finish second on the team in scoring. He was also a club-high +16. Two seasons ago, he scored 17 goals and dished out 26 assists.
Marleau has great speed and skating skill, and he's very good at both ends of the ice. His durability is fantastic, and he's a strong leader for a team on the rise.
