The Boston Bruins Season Preview - Martin Samuelsson

Another newcomer from Providence, Samuelsson will join the parent club with a reputation as "good, not great" (21-20-41 in seventy-two junior games last season).

The team has expectations of stability from Samuelsson, and hopes he will provide some spark to the team at times. It will be a battle, though, to make the team.

"We have a three-men-for-two-spots battle at left wing," GM Joshua Anderson explained, "and it comes down to Hartigan, Lindstrom, and Samuelsson. Hartigan is a solid passer, strong at puck control and shooting, and the most disciplined of the three. If you've seen our penalty kill ratings, you know that is a concern. Lindstrom is probably the best sniper option, but he can be a defensive and discipline liability."

Anderson paused, then added, "Martin is probably the best all-around player - good across the board, not excelling anywhere, but good. A bit undisciplined, could use some defensive mindset, but solid passing and definitely fast. I honestly foresee him and Hartigan splitting time, depending on if we're facing a juggernaut or a plodding offense."

Prediction - 50 games, 7-12-19
