The Boston Bruins Season Preview - Matt Hartigan
The lone option of the three-man race for the left wing that is a returning Bruin, Matt Hartigan (2-5-7 in thirty-eight games) played primarily fourth line left wing last season. He is looking for a step up in opportunity, and will likely get it unless he suffers a pre-season collapse.
"In our three-men-for-two-spots battle at left wing," GM Joshua Anderson stated, "it comes down to Lindstrom, Samuelsson, and Matt Hartigan. Lindstrom is probably the best sniper option, but he is a defensive and discipline liability. Samuelsson is a solid all-around player. He is good across the board, but doesn't give you any flash in any particular area and can be a bit undisciplined."
Anderson sipped his bourbon, then continued, "Matt Hartigan is a solid passer, is strong as a puck controller and while not a sniper, is an accurate shot with some force behind it. He is, without a doubt, the most disciplined of the three. And if you've seen our penalty kill ratings, you know that is a major concern for us."
Prediction - 50 games, 10-14-24
