New Buffalo GM does not disappoint
Buffalo - A.P.
New General Manager Keith Pierson and the new Buffalo Sabres do not disappoint in their 4 to 1 home rout win of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
From the begging of the game, Buffalo controlled the game tempo as they out shot Tampa Bay 14 to 8 and converted a five-minute power play when Mathieu Schneider elbowed a fellow Buffalo Sabre player. Newly returned Captain Josef Vasicek fresh off of a day-to-day injury scored the power play goal with assistance coming from Alyn McCauley and Matt Pettinger.
Matt Pettinger ended up going on to be player of the game as he posted another goal and assist following the Josef Vasicek power play goal. The 2nd and 3rd star were Josef Vasicek and Rick Dipietro respectively.
After the game, the media caught up with General Manager Keith Pierson and bombarded him with questions concerning the salary cap issue. “Please don’t worry, the salary cap situation is under control. We are in talks with a few teams and are in the works of working out a deal that will bring us under the cap while not hurting our core group of players who we plan to ride to the Stanley Cup. Just be patient and you shall see.”
