Sens Let the Troops Rest

The Ottawa Senators have decided to protect their stars by placing them on the farm and calling up the farmers in their place.

In what many have called an 'odd move', Schmucky explained himself earlier today by saying, "We have confidence in our lines and we know where our pros stand in terms of lines and ice time. So, we are resting and protecting them from injury as well as giving ourselves the opportunity to watch some of our offseason JR callups perform against the pros. It should be a telling few games t osay the least as these youngin's vie for a spot on the team or prove themselves to be the first one called up in case of injury."

Schmucky will not rest his goalies though, as Turek and Ozzy Osgood have yet to play a GREAT game and the GM insists they need the ice to find their 'groove'.

The Defensive will remain the same with the exception of Tom Poti, who is undoubtedly the #1 man in Ottawa, and youngster Ryan Whitney who was injury prone last season. Kaberle and Gill will move up to the #1 and #4 lines in an attempt to 'lay the schmuck down' on opposing squads.
