Lindros Makes Impact in Debut Against Washington

Eric Lindros did just what was asked last night as he combined with hulking Todd Bertuzzi and made life miserable for the Washington capitals all night. He potted the second goal of the night, landed 5 hits, and brought some much needed intensity to the team. The big man finds himself in a bit of an unfamiliar situation as he is being asked to play the role of two way centre.

"It's always nice to get things going well off the hop," commented Lindros on the goal after the game. "It was Bertuzzi's play that got the puck to the front of the net. I just held in and banged it home."

The win over the Caps was crucial and put the Rangers at 5-5 over what was identified as a crucial 10 game stretch. A loss could have been damaging to their playoff hopes but as it stands they're still only 5 points out. When the Rangers struggled the organization did as was predicted and made a move. Lindros and Berglund were brought in to change the chemistry of the team. Both players looked good in their debut and the Rangers hope that's a sign of things to come.
