Red Hot Prucha Toast of Broadway

It's amazing what a change in scenery can do. Petr Prucha spent much of the year watching from the pressbox before he come to the Rangers but since arriving has potted 8 goals and 1 assist in 9 games. His finest night of the season was a hat trick last game against the Capitals which, unfortunately came in a losing cause.

"We really thought that Prucha could be an impact player when we got him," said GM Burns. "He's really stepped in right away and has been a difference maker. Fedorov has really taken him under his wing. They're inseperable. I think that playing with a vetran of Sergei's calibre is really elevating his game."

Prucha has gelled well with the speedy vet and the young Par Backer to provide most of the Rangers offence over the last 4 games. The line has been putting points on the board while the top two lines struggle to find their stride. It's a good news/bad news situation for the Rangers since the third liners alone can not carry the team to victory.

"With Lindros and Berglund coming in I think we'll see the top two lines become much more potent," said Burns. "If the top two lines play like they can and the third continues to contribute we'll have the kind of balanced attack that can carry teams far."
