Capitals Dim Stars

The Washington Capitals scored twice in the second period and kept the Dallas Stars off the board to earn a 2-0 victory on Day 75. The win moves Washington to 15-23-3 for the season.

After a scoreless opening period, Patrick Marleau scored the eventual game-winner from Cory Sarich and Dan Boyle at 10:34. Oleg Saprykin completed the scoring with an unassisted tally at 16:05.

JS Giguere stopped all 37 shots he faced to earn the shutout victory. Marty Turco stopped 24 shots in the loss.

The Capitals return to home ice on Day 78 to face Montreal.
