Capitals Drop Second Straight

The St. Louis Blues held the Washington Capitals to just 19 shots on goal on Day 69 to earn a 3-0 victory. Washington is 13-21-3 after the loss.

Butsayev started it off for the Blues when he scored from Handzus and Theodore at 8:06 of the opening period.

Handzus made it 2-0 early in the middle stanza with a power play marker. Oleg Saprykin was in the box for charging at the time of the goal.

The Blues continued to dominate in the final period, and Savage made it 3-0 from Tyutin and Cleary at 10:54.

JS Giguere stopped 25 shots in the loss and fell to 15-12-4. Jose Theodore made 19 saves to earn the win.

The Capitals visit San Jose on Day 70.
