Washington Adds 2 More Picks

The Washington Capitals added two more draft picks in the Year 2008 draft in recent trades with the Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes. The organization continued to have a number of players available, including two precious junior defenders.

The new arrivals give the club 10 selections in the Year 2008 draft, including four in the fourth round and three in the fifth round. While not high in either draft, with some good scouting the club expects to add good prospects for the future.

Heading to Calgary is 25-year-old defender Ryan Vanbuskirk. On his way to Phoenix is 25-year-old defender Chris Lyness. Both will report to the Junior clubs and fill important roster spots.

Washington GM John Henry is looking to make more moves as the league moves into the preseason. Stay tuned for future developments...
