Leafs make deals to help teams get out of roster violations

The Toronto Maple Leafs made a few trades that saw 4 Junior playes leaving , and 2 picks and some cash coming back.
The 2 deals were very minor for the Leafs, but for the 2 teams involved, helped them get out of trouble from league offices.

To Toronto
Oilers 5th pick 07
Oilers 4th pick 08

To Edmonton

Jean-Francois Racine G(jr)
Sebastien Centomo G(jr)

and the second deal

To Rangers: Jonathan Ferland (JR RW ) and Miguel Delisle (JR RW)

To Leaf: A cool Million.

The team got some future picks down the road that they will use to replace the bodies lost today. The team was not too concerned with what they got in return, however they werent just going to hand out players for nothing to other gms, who for some reason, had let there roster problems fester for months.

These moves have left the team thin in general, especailly in the Juniors. They still have a few dmen fighting for those 6th and 7th spots on the pro and its possible one or 2 more pro bodies may be moved.

Odds are Lubomir will be the one on the outside looking in. He may just be used as insurance all year unless some he is moved.

Thats it for now, unless more teams come knocking on Toronto's door for players for roster vios...lets hope they are done and the season can start.
