Florida Jrs End Losing Streak

The Forida Jrs were at home today to host the the Canadian jrs and snapped their 3 game losing streak defeating the Montreal Jrs 3-0.

Lukas Mensator got his 3rd start of the season and his first shutout stopping all 24 shots he faced.

It was the second period that was the difference in this game as there was no scoring in the first and third periods.

In the second the Florida jrs got on the board early when Toni Koivisto scored his first of two just 1:42 in. Viktor Bobrov added his 4th of the season at 14:44.Just under a minute later at 15:29 Koivisto scored his second of the game and third of the season to give the Jrs squad a commanding 3-0 lead. Lukas Mensator kept Montreal off the scoresheet to secure the win.

"We needed a strong game today."Toni Koivisto said at the post game interview. "We have been shut out the last two games and needed to step up our game. Lukas played great today and kept us in the game. We had a solid effort by everyone and it showed."

"I am just glad that we got the W" Mensator said "Playing well and getting the shut out was a great bonus for me but the win is more important."

"We got a solid effort today."GM Perrault told reporters. "Lukas was solid and it was good to see him play the way we know he can.Its been tough lately with all the injuries we have had but these guys came through today."

Next up the Florida Jrs will host the Minnesotta Jrs tommorrow night and will try and keep going in the win column and start their first winning streak of the year.
