Junior Capitals Blank Blues

Daniel Taylor stopped all 20 shots he faced to lead the Washington Junior Capitals to a 3-0 victory over the St. Louis Junior Blues on Day 95. The win ends a four-game losing streak for Washington and moves the team to 21-24-3.

Patrick O'Sullivan got it going for the Capitals in the opening period when he scored from Sean Bergenheim at 9:41. The goal came on the power play while St. Louis' Jaakola was in the box for roughing.

Washington turned up the pressure and completely dominated the second period. Maxim Orlov scored the only goal from Andrew Joudrey and Jean-Claude Sawyer at 10:57, but it was one-way traffic over the 20 minutes. The Caps outshot St. Louis 15-3 in the period.

The Capitals continued its strong play in the final period, and Sean Kotary made it 3-0 with an unassisted goal at 6:33 to put the game away.

Taylor earned the shutout win for Washington and improved to 10-8-1. Jeff Glass stopped 29 shots in a losing effort for St. Louis.

The Junior Capitals return to action on Day 97 against Atlanta.
