Florida Puts 6 Game Winning Streak On Line Against Rangers
FLORIDA
The Florida Panthers will put their 6 game winning streak on the line tonight against the New York Rangers.
The Rangers will be looking for redemption from the 1-0 loss they suffered at the hands of the Panthers in sim 560. The Rangers will also be looking to get back on the winning side of the ledger as they are winless in their last 3 going 0-2-1.
The Panthers will also be trying to keep pace with the Conference Leading New York Islanders. Florida is currently 10 points behind with a game in hand in the race for the Presidents Trophy.
The good news for the Rangers is the game is in Florida where the Panthers have had a tough time winning going 12-15-2 so far this year. The bad news is the 'Cats have been on of the hottest teams in the league and are on a mission to catch the Islanders for top spot and will have to face either Roberto Loungo or Jamie Storr.
Roberto has been playing well as of late due to the rest he has been able to get with Jamie Storr filling in admirably when called upon. Which has been frequently as of late and he has 2 shut outs, one of them against the Rangers.
"This game is important for us to win." GM Perrault told reporters. "We are playing not only a conference but a divisional rival who we could meet in the first round of the playoffs. We also need to keep pace with the Islanders who have played outstanding all year. We have our work cut out for us in order to catch them. The key there I think will be the three games we play against them coming up with one being our second last game of the season but for now we have to concentrate on defeating the Rangers tonight and worry about the rest when it comes."
