Junior Capitals Tie Columbus

The Washington Junior Capitals remained in the thick of the playoff hunt after a 2-2 tie with the Columbus Junior Blue Jackets on Day 116. The point moves Washington to 24-28-8, four points out of the final playoff spot.

Columbus jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period when Hennessy and Murray scored in the first 1:59. The first goal after just 25 seconds and Alen earned the assist. Tomica and Suter setup Murray's tally just 1:34 later. Washington responded with a goal 40 seconds after Murray's marker from Sean Kotary. Zbynek Novak and Jakub Cutta assisted.

The Caps battled to tie the game at 11:39 of the final period on Ryan MacMurchy's power play tally from Cory Urquhart and Lance Moynch at 11:39.

Robert Muller stopped 22 shots to earn the tie for Washington. Yan Danis made 25 saves for Columbus.

The Junior Capitals return to action on Day 119 in Toronto.
