Panthers and Flyers Play to Draw

FLORIDA
Roberto Loungo stopped 32 of the 34 shots he faced and was the reason Philadelphia didn't win this game.

It was the Flyers who dominated the first period and out shot Florida 11-5 in the period. Brian Savage scored the only goal of the period at 13:38 and the Flyers kept the lead going into the second period.

The second period saw the teams trade power play goals. Petr Bondra tied the game while the Flyers George Laraque was in the box for a roughing double minor. Bondra's goal came at 3:02 and was his 20th of the year. The Flyers re-took the lead at 16:57 on Mariusz Czerkawski's 18th goal of the year while they were on the power play and the Flyers took their 2-1 lead into the third as it was once again looking like the Panthers home woes would continue.

The Flyers once again were the better team in the third but couldn't put one past Loungo as they out shot the 'Cats 10-5. Patrik Stephen tied the game 2-2 at 12:31 of the third period on his team leading 28th goal and overtime would be needed to see if there would be a winner in this game.

The Flyers dominated the overtime but Roberto Loungo frustrated the Flyers and stopped all 5 shots they threw at him and this game would go down as a 2-2 tie.

The Panthers will travel to New Jersey to play the Devils and try to get back on the winning side of things.
