Panthers Winning Streak Snapped By Rangers

FLORIDA
The Florida Panthers home woes continued as the New York Rangers came to town and snapped the 'Cats 6 game winning streak. The Panthers have the second worst home record 12-16-2 of the top 16 in the league but have only lost 9 times against Conference rivals.

Pavel won this round in the battle of the Bure brothers. Pavel got a goal and an assist while brother Valeri was held off the scoresheet.

Pavel's goal came at 8:08 of the first period while the Rangers had the man advantage. It was Bure's 30th goal of the year and gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead that held up until the second period.

The Panthers Petr Bondra tied the game at 1 at 11:35 of the second period notching his 19th of the season and gave the home fans something to cheer about.

That is until the third.

The Rangers dominated the third period and held the Panthers to only 4 shots. Wade Redden broke the tie early in the second when he fired a shot from the point for his 6th of the year at 2:11. Mike Ribeiro scored and insurance marker just past the midway point at 10:34 for his 19th of the season. That would be all the Rangers would need as they shut down the Panthers offense to cruise to a 3-1 victory.

The Panthers will host the Philadelphia Flyers tomorrow night.
