Panthers Defeat Devils

NEW JERSEY
The Panthers were here to play the Devils and looking to get back into the win column. Florida just haven't been themselves lately and looked a little fatigued in this game as well as they only got 20 shots on net which is close to 10 below their average per game.

The Devils drew fist blood when Boyd Devereaux scored his 16th of the year at 9:37 to give the Devils a 1-0 lead that held up until the second period.

Yanick Lehoux tied it up for Florida at 15:57 and Patrik Stefan scored his 29th of the year late in the period at 18:15 to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead. The Devils Karel Pilar took an unnecessary penalty for boarding at 19:31 and the Panthers would take their 5th power play opportunity into the third period.

The Panthers dealt the Devils an early blow in the third. Owen Nolan scored his 26th of the year just :48 seconds in to give Florida a 3-1 lead. That would hold up as the winning score and for the first time in 3 games the Panthers came out victorious.

The Panthers now will head to St. Louis to play the Blues.
