Raycroft fine

After being held over at Our Blessed Lady of the Virgins Holy St. Mary on the Hill Hospital for observation, Andrew Raycroft was released and cleared to play in the team's next game against the New Jersey Devils.

Attending doctor Matthew Dorian stated he had rarely seen a grotesque injury as the one which Raycroft suffered at the wings of Islander Denis Gauthier, renowned cheap shot chicken. It was part of the series of "incidents" the Islanders executed in the team's 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins earlier this week.

"We're relieved that Andrew escaped without permanent damage following Gauthier's Pearl Harbor attack. To brutally assault someone in the manner Denis did, with his back turned, and only one second left in the period... I mean, what kind of man is Ryan Long? Honestly?" coach Robbie Ftorek said after the statement from Dorian. "I'll tell you what kind of man - one who will probably reward Gauthier... if his wife says it is okay."
