A New Beginning

The Philadelphia Flyers were one of the leagues most potent offences just a few seasons ago. Now a team that has been through many changes all over is starting to take form but will not be near contending for atleast 3 maybe 4 seasons. Several seasons after nearly making it to the CLUTCH finals the team has seen many changes that will impact in a positive way down the road.

Joe Sakic, Jaromir Jagr, Olli Jokinen and Petr Sykora are just a few names that have come and gone from Philly. Several new faces have come to town including a new young goaltender who will be looking to change the face of the team for the future. Martin Gerber has been very stellar during his junior campaign with the Flyers team. In 69 games last year for PhillyJR, Gerber posted a solid 3.03 Goals Against Average and a .895 Save Percentage. A team once known for their goaltending troubles now have 2 solid young goaltenders to help lead the way in the future. Antero Niittymaki is ready to step up and fight young Gerber for the number one spot on the team.

The Flyers have loads of potential for future on offence. They have young Kyle Wellwood and Hugh Jessiman at center, Matt Stajan and Marian Cisar at leftwing and at rightwing they have three solid up and coming studs in Jamie Lundmark, Scottie Upshall and Alexander Steen. Philadelphia also has potential superstar Wojtek Wolski playing in Junior for the next few seasons hoping for him to gain more confidence and pave his way to becoming a superstar in CLUTCH.

With the team getting the #4 overall selection in this years entry draft, the future looks very bright for the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
