Cheechoo Returns to Washington

In a move that shook the CLUTCH world, the Washington Capitals signed star winger Jonathan Cheechoo to a four-year contract recently worth $10,010,000 per year. The 26-year-old inked an offer sheet with Toronto, but Washington matched the offer shortly before the deadline.

Cheechoo plays on the right side of Washington's top line and scored 19 goals with 27 assists last season. He won the Calder Trophy as the league's top rookie in Season 4 after netting 19 goals and 34 assists in 76 games.

The club is expecting big things from Cheech this season after an off-season development program saw the gritty winger develop a remarkable scoring touch.

Washington will need to make some moves to fit Jonathan under the salary cap, but he's simply too good a player to give up for the compensation involved.
