Jackets shopping for playmaker?
Columbus, OH
It appears that the Blue Jackets are not satisfied with Cory Stillman as their number one center. There have been several rumors around the league that Columbus is looking for a top notch passing playmaker. Whether or not something gets done remains to be seen. The Blue Jackets originally wanted to continue to develop the young forwards in the system, but with some key additions in free agency, the management feels that a playmaking centerman could bring more wins to Columbus this year.
Stacy Roest, veteran winger, has told the team that he wants to remain in Columbus next season, and the club will have many decisions to make regarding Roest's contract demands. Roest will likely line up as a top six winger, with excellent on ice leadership ability.
In net the Jackets have no concern over Dan Blackburn's recent fitness issues. Blackburn will be ready to go once his suspension is served for a team violation.
