FRASER THE NEW CENTER OF ATTENTION IN JUNIOR CANE-VILLE
Carolina
After a couple seasons fighting for some ice time, it seems that this year will mark the year of Colin Fraser. The tale continues today as young Colin Fraser has been given the vote of confidence by head coach Craig Harstburg to lead the young Carolina juniors into battle as ther top line center.
Flanking him will be the creative and gifted offensive star Corey Perry and the power forward with a cannon of a shot in Mark Mancari.
"This is a big year for me," said Fraser. "A lot of talk the past couple years was simply about me being able to put up any numbers in this level. I had a hard time getting ice time from some of the veterans on this team like Brandon Reid and Jeff Carter, but they graduated this year and hopefully this is the year I show off what I have learned while I have been here."
Corey Perry is also in the same situation. While he was acquired last year in a deal that sent sniper Joffrey Lupul to Toronto, Perry had expected to see more minutes last season. That did not happen with the glut of offensive talent on the right side, but several have left and Perry feels his time is now.
"I just want a chance to get my shot in the bigs," said Perry. "I Know I can play in this league and I know I can put up numbers they expect. If this is the opportunity that Mark, Colin and I get, then so be it. We will not let anyone down."
The Canes are quite excited about the opportunity to unite this talented trio and feel that if this line does not click, they have several options to find the proper fit.
Canes camp continues.
