Philly JR Lose to Isles
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The Philly junior team has lost their 5th game out of 9 total games so far this year.
This is a very disappointing start for the Flyers junior squad who were expected to do much better with the current lineup they have. The last loss came at the hands of the Islanders junior team where Philly lost 6-3. Al Montoya didn’t have his best game of the season and after allowing 5 goals on 21 shots he got the pull in favor of backup Daniel Manzato who made 2 stops out of 3 shots.
With the recent loss the team’s record goes to 4-5-0. The season is only young, but the points obtained now go a long way in solidifying a playoff birth for this Flyers team who has Calder Cup hopes this season.
A scary moment for the Isles junior early in the 1st period as Jamie Tardiff tried to lift Anton Kadeykin's stick and hit him right on the wrist. Kadeykin is out indefinitely with a fracture in his wrist. The league will be reviewing the incident, but nothing is expected since it was a fairly innocent incident.
Philly management is expected to make a few shakeups to their lineup for next game, but they also made it clear that Al Montoya will be starting his eighth game in a row as EdmontonJR heads to Philadelphia to face PhillyJR on Day 22.
