Sabres on fire?
Buffalo – A.P.
The Buffalo Sabres are on fire!
Their win streak is now at four games, the highest thus far for the team this season. They currently sit tied for third place in the Wales Conference with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Buffalo Sabres fourth win came against the Nashville Predators, favorites to win the Campbell Conference but are currently in last place of the Campbell Conference after losing tonight to the Buffalo Sabres.
The highlight of the game was all about Ilya Kovalchuk who went home with the first star of the game and his first time this season winning the first star. He received the first place finish for his four points in the game, two coming from goals and two coming from assists. He didn’t have the game-winning goal but his two goals were crucial in winning the game, which ended in a score of 4-3 in regulation time.
General Manager Keith Pierson wasn’t all smiles after the game as he had some unfortunate things to say about some players. He didn’t give any names but he mentioned their poor performance on the penalty kill and their poor sportsmanship on the ice resulting in too many unneeded penalties.
Currently the Buffalo Sabres are almost dead last in the league in penalty killing as seven of the teams eighteen goals allowed were from the opposing teams power play. If this team wants to win the Stanley Cup, the Buffalo Sabres need to start killing their penalties and stop allowing every other goal they give up to be on a penalty kill.
GM Keith also announced his latest trading block that the Buffalo Sabres are shopping, the names are, Brad Isbister and Josef Melicher.
