GLASS GETS QUICKER

Carolina

With camps now complete, the Junior Canes are sheepishly happy with the development of netminder Jeff Glass. Glass, 19, stepped up his play on the last day of camps to really demonstrate an added quickness to his game.

"This kid worked harder than anyone I have had the privilege of training over this past couple of seasons," said Tom Dempsey, strength and conditioning coach. "He has the right attitude and the ability to absorb everything we say. He has the right stuff man, he could be a good one."

Glass, who has now played 10 games, sits with a mediocre 3.29 GAA, a .879 and holds a record of 2-4-1. Not the most of impressive stats for the youngster but he is convinced he can do better, especially with his new found confidence.

"For sure I need to step up," said Glass. "This was a really good experience for me because it really put a focus on things I was not doing well. I think I have the ability to get over faster now than I did. Maybe that will be the difference but whatever, I really feel like I am ready to step it up for our team."

The Canes have some injury whoas at the moment with both David Cornacchia and Brent Seabrook, two key defensemen. Also, Corey Perry is serving a 5 game suspension. Look for Glass to be in net for the next contest.
