Rangers Match Season High Win Streak of Two in a Row
Ok Apollow 13 it ain't but the recent picture show that the New York Rangers have been playing has been a good one. The Rangers have played back to back games with high intensity and have put together a rare win streak of two games. Not much to get excited about perhaps but it's pushed them within one point of the playoffs and has their fans hoping this recent blip is not just a tease.
Last night's game against the Senators was a key one and the Rangers came out fired up but were quickly put on their back foot as they went down two nothing. The team showed resilience though by scoring the next 4 goals and closing with a 5-4 win.
"The team has played fairly well over the last 5 or 6 games. We've played some tough teams in the Sabres, Islanders, and Flames as well as had to deal with Mike Dunham being out for 3 games. We'll miss Mats (Sundin) and Bure but I really like how Lindros and Berglund have stepped in. We're paying attention to our own end better and I know we can make the playoffs. In fact, I'm sure we can move well up the standings but it's up to us to get it going."
Lindros and Berglund both hit the score sheet again last night for the second straight game.
"It's nice to win. That's all that matters," said a typically humble Berglund.
