Early Season Canuck Update

The Vancouver Canucks are off to a fairly decent start this season after a dissapointing season that had them miss the playoffs.After a long off season the GM was busy behind the scenes making sure that the rosters of both pro and jrs were filled and that picks were accumulated for the future.
The biggest acquisition in the offseason was bringing home power forward Todd Bertuzzi. He has yet to hit his stride but the season is still young.A pleasant surprise has been the play of Tyler Bouck who has thrived being paired with veteran Craig Conroy.The defense that this team has been built around has been steady as usual.Big saves at key times by vet Byron Defoe has been the differance in the start this season compared to last when Cujo proved he didnt have his head in the game.
Youngster Alexander Auld has been brought up to learn from the steady pro in front of him.He is being groomed to be the starter in Vancouver. It will be the first homegrown talent developed under this regeim.The Canucks management has hight hopes for this youngster.
So with the big win over the defending Clutch champs and steady play against other teams the canucks hope the start of this year is not a fluke and the start of a successful season on the west coast
