Rangers JRS Surprising Everybody

The New York Rangers Junior team has undergone a surprising turnaround this season. The juniors roared out of the gate but stumbled in the second week due to some of their players being off in training camps. Once those players were back they reeled off two consecutive wins and are moving back up the standings.

Perhaps the biggest reason for their resurgence is the outstanding play of Terry Denike.

After 9 games the young netminder has a GAA of 2.40 and a sparkling .920 save percentage. "There's no doubt that Denskies kept us in games and has stolen a few as well," said leading scorer John Mitchell. "He's been a rock."

Denike's play has even drawn the attention of big league GM David Burns.

"We monitor our farm team closely and we've been very impressed with Denike for some time now. He seems to be coming into his own. He posses great poise, quickness, and competitiveness. We're hoping he develops and can join Lehtonen in our net in the future."
