Florida jrs Wins 2nd Game In A Row For First Time
FLORIDA-The Florida jrs played host to the Tampa jrs and won an exciting game for their home town fans and extended their winning streak to 2 games.
Although the Tampa team outshot the Florida jrs 29-19 they couldnt beat them on the score sheet or solve goalie Billy Thompson who was named the games first star.
The first period was a chippy affair and Floridas best. Anton Borodkin (Florida) and Paul Lynch had a fight early in the period with Anton beating up Lynch at 3:40 of the period. Anton later got his 7th goal of the season at 16:43 to give the Florida jrs a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Floridas Tobias Enstrom was injured with what is said to be a bruised elbow at 7:16 of the second period when he got beat up by Tampas Evgeni Artukhin who was ejected from the game after the fight.
Tampa got the lone goal of the period at 12:11 by Norm Milley to tie the game at 1.
The two teams finally got down to playing some hockey in the third period and it was Florida who was able to secure the win when Marc-Andre Bernier scored his 3rd of the year and the eventual game winner at 6:45.
This marks the first time this year that the Florida jrs have got a winning streak going instead of a losing one and it is much to the delight of the GM.
The Florida team has tonight off before the head off to New Jersey to play the Devils jr squad.
