Ottawa Gears up for Tough Battle

The Ottawa Senators enjoyed a light practice today in preparation for a tough match against the stanley cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa is coming off of a 3-2 victory over the Hawks last night but could be tired as this will be their 3rd game in 3 nights, 2nd straight on the road. With Lemieux still out of the lineup due to injury, the Sens are hoping to sneak a victory away from the exhausted bolts.

One key to the Sens success will be Petr Nedved who is currently on a league leading 4 game goal scoring streak and is currently 2nd on the team with 9 points. Brendan Morrison is still leading the team with 6 goals and 4 assists and is also a vital part of the teams success. Finally, another great offseason addition to the team, Tom Poti, has been playing amazing hockey. Poti has 9 points as well this season but his most impressive stat is his +7 +/- rating.

Marty Turco will get the start tonight as the Sens come off of two days rest. Rico Fata is still suspended for his vicious high stick on Daymond Langkow but this doesn't phase the Senators as replacement Grosek had a 4 point night the first day that Fata was gone and is definitely trying to make an impression on GM Schmucky about where he should be placed in this deep Ottawa lineup.
