Ottawa Loses Close one in front of their biggest Crowd of the year!

The Ottawa Senators lost a close game in overtime to the Lightning last night 4-3, in front of an almost sell-out crowd of 16474 raging fans. The Sens played their hearts out but just couldn't steal the game in overtime as the one and only shot the Lightning took in the extra period, went in. After the game GM Schmucky commented, "It was a hell of a game. To be able to play with the defending champs and get a point is a great feat considering most were not even picking us to make the playoffs this season. In my opinion, we were one stupid penalty away from a tie or victory."

The penalty that Schmucky refers to is the elbowing call against D. Petrasek at 3:57 of O.T. That gave the bolts the PP and their only shot of the period. The Senators had controlled the first couple of minutes in overtime, but that shot proved to be all the lightning would need.

Michal Grosek responded again to the extra ice-time he has received in Rico's absence with another multi-point game notching 2 assists.

Both the Senators and JR. Sens will suit up tonight. The pro Senators are on the road to Carolina to play the always tough Carolina Hurricanes. While the JR Sens will stay at home and play the JR Rangers in a tough battle as the JR Rangers seem to be the surprise team of the year!
