Capitals Acquire Suchy

The Washington Capitals acquired defender Radoslav Suchy in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes the team announced. In exchange for the defender, the Yr 2009 WIL 5 draft pick goes to Phoenix.

Suchy, 29, is a sturdy defender and should add to the strength and depth of the Washington defense. He stands 6-2 and weight 198 pounds. Radoslav is in the last year of his contract at $2,000,000 per year.

Suchy is good in the defensive end with solid strength, good endurace and durability. His discipline is very good, and he doesn't take many penalties. Radoslav will likely step in to the lineup on the third defensive pairing.

In 24 games this season in Phoenix, Suchy has two goals and four assists with 20 hits and 2 PIMs.
