CANES DEFEATED IN SHARK ATTACK
Carolina
With the continuing offensive whoas of the Carolina Hurricanes, the team dropped its second straight and fourth in five games. Offense drying up has been a key issue for the young club as they have only managed to fire 3 goals in the last two games toal. A far cry from the previous team seen the past month and a half.
"We expected to have a lot of offense thrown at us," said head coach Joel Quenneville. "What I am starting to not like though is that our guys aren't putting much worth while at the opposition. The Sharks are a good deep team, but we were pinned throughout most of the game. It says a lot when we need the Sheriff to score."
Scott Parker, the bruising power forward, notched his fourth of the season. Kris Draper fired in his eighth.
"We need to find a way to get some pucks on net," said Mike Fisher. "I think we were buzzing around last night but the effort, the second efforts, just aren't there. I think we are going to have to figure something out because we aren't getting much done right now."
The Canes luckily have tonight off, and fortunately for the Canes, no pending injuries are an issue.
"We are going to have to practice some things today," said defenseman Jay McKee. "We need to go back to playing some simply hockey. We show up like we did last night, we might as well pack up the tent and move to Toronto and forever be losers."
