7 Days of Rest Too Much?

This photo of Jaques Martin at morning practice in Ottawa. The players showed up, practiced (well, sort of) and left without even waking their tired coach. It seems that the 7 straight days of rest and 10 of the last 11 days off is actually too much rest for the tiresome team.

"I don't know who made this years schedule but it definitely was not in our favour" said captain Dick Tarnstrom. The Senators played 10 games in 11 days and ended it with a 4 game losing skid just to be pushed into a 10 rest days in 11 days skid. The team is tired and actually quite bored.

"Well, all we can hope is that the rest pumps them up a little. We started the season well so hopefully the guys will see this as a chance to restart and gain some victories. We really need a boost in points" said GM Schmucky at this morning's conference, well this afternoon I guess since it was at 2pm, just as Schmucky rolled out of bed. But why not, it isn't like they have anything else to do.

When asked about trade rumours involving some of his young forwards Schmucky would only say, "there are 2 offers on the table that we are evaluating right now. I won't tell you who but we are hoping to make a few moves very soon!"
