Free Agent sighted!

After more than four months of holding out, stories have floated that Bruins forward Oleg Saprykin has been spotted around the Boston Fleet Center.

When approached for comment, Saprykin played dumb, claiming he spoke no English. His agent, however, spoke glowingly of Saprykin's preparation for the season "should he eventually return."

The left winger has been in a hold out primarily over signing bonus with the Boston hockey club. The team had high hopes of signing him earlier in the season, but terrible performance and a lackluster gate draw left the franchise sucking wind fiscally.

As the team's winning drought continued, management reconsidered its position on the year and looked into blowing up the roster. Making the trade of Keith Tkachuk mroe feasible was deemed a better idea, so his contract was renegotiated, forcing another cash drain on the franchise.

Since then, though, things have turned around and the team has fought its way into a playoff spot, and is contending for the Division title. With additional cash in hand, the team may be reconsidering its stance on Saprykin.

Asked for his position, GM Joshua Anderson said the team's desire for the player never changed. "Look, we always wanted Oly in a Bruins jersey. But financially, we couldn't make it work. Maybe we could have turned things around a little earlier... or maybe not. What we do know is that we are here now - well, except for you, since you're on the phone. But we here in my office, we're all here. You're there, but that's better, since Tank over there is not a fan of yours after you did that thing with his daughter, ya know? Anyway... we're here, and we'd like Oly to be as well. End of story."
